Community champion Gail Whattingham will illuminate her ‘Farnham Christmas Lights House’ in Greenfield Road, Wrecclesham, for a 36th year this December – and is on the lookout for a sponsor to support her annual effort for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.

“I wondered if anyone or local business would be willing the cost of running the lights this Christmas,” Gail said. The London 2012 torchbearer and her family have raised many tens of thousands of pounds for charity over the years through various fundraising initiatives – including elaborately illuminating her house in Greenfield Road.

But because of soaring energy bills, pensioner Gail is struggling to afford for her festive display – a must-see annual fixture for many people in the town.
