Aldershot man charged after serious assault leaves victim with head injury

A man has been charged following a serious assault in Aldershot that left a man in his 30s with a serious head injury.

Police were called to Victoria Road at 10:22pm on Sunday, July 26, after receiving reports that the victim had been punched.

The injured man was taken to hospital for treatment.

Following an investigation, officers charged Anthony Moody, 38, of Southmead Road, Aldershot, with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Moody appeared before Southampton Magistrates' Court on Saturday, August 1, where he was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday, September 2.
