Driver flees after two children injured in Farnham bypass crash

Police are hunting a driver who fled the scene after two children were seriously injured in a three-vehicle collision on the A31 Farnham bypass.

Officers were called to the bypass at around 2.45pm on Sunday, July 26, following a collision involving a black BMW 3 Series, a white Toyota Yaris and a grey BMW 330.

Surrey Police said the black BMW struck the two other vehicles, which were stationary, before the driver fled the scene on foot.

Two children, aged 12 and 13, who were passengers in one of the vehicles, suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital.

Police are trying to trace the driver of the black BMW, who is described as a black man in his 20s wearing a black Nike top, black shorts and sliders without socks. He was last seen running through undergrowth towards Farnham town centre.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area between 2.40pm and 2.50pm on Sunday and may have seen the collision or the driver fleeing the scene.

They are also appealing for anyone with CCTV, dashcam or helmet camera footage of the incident to come forward.
