The Railway Arms in Alton has won the first East Hants Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) branch Cider Pub of the Year Award.

Landlady Chloe Watson received the certificate from East Hants CAMRA branch secretary and pubs officer Tony Davis.

Tony said: “This long-standing Good Beer Guide entry, renowned for its local Triple fff and guest ales, has in recent years served bag in box Seacider ciders from Ditchling Common in East Sussex.”

He added: “Seacider is one of a band of craft cider producers meeting strict CAMRA requirements for real cider, which means whole juice and no use of concentrates in a process more akin to wine-making than the brewing of beer.”
