Canine charity, Hounds for Heroes, hails partnership with Hindhead BMW dealership

The founder of a canine charity has taken a trip down memory lane to celebrate a partnership with a Hindhead firm.

Allen Parton recently had tunnel vision as the Hounds for Heroes vice-chairman visited the Group 1 BMW dealership.

The firm off the A3 will boost the Ramsdean charity by giving £1 for every completed customer survey they receive this year.

The visit was a homecoming of sorts for the Clanfield figurehead as he was born in Haslemere and went to nearby Woolmer Hill school.

“This was quite a poignant visit,” said Mr Parton, who visited the showroom with assistance dog, ET (Endal Three).

“This dealership is actually built on the site of one of my old drinking venues, The Spaniard, which was alongside the old A3. So we felt right at home the moment we arrived.”

A spokesperson for the showroom said it was “really great” to meet the Hounds for Heroes team and they are looking forward to their partnership growing over the coming months.

They said: “Hounds for Heroes do great work by providing specially trained assistance dogs to veterans of both the armed and emergency services who have become physically disabled through injury or illness.”

Mr Parton added: “To have the support of local businesses such as Group 1 has such a far-reaching effect on our ability to deliver our charity mission as successfully as we do.

“Every penny the charity receives has such a massive impact on our ability to create life enhancing partnerships with one of our Hounds for Heroes dogs.”
