Correction: Labour promises 13,000 new police officers across England and Wales – not just in Surrey

An article on Page 22 of today’s paper (Thursday, April 25) was erroneously headlined ‘Labour promises 13,000 more police in Surrey’.

This was our mistake. Labour’s parliamentary candidate for the new Farnham & Bordon seat, Alex Just, actually said in his column that Labour promises to recruit another 13,000 police officers across England and Wales.

We have apologised to Mr Just and apologise too for misleading readers. It was an honest error.
