PUPILS at Woodlea Primary School have started a new whole school topic titled Our Earth and Saving Our Planet.

They will be learning about sustainability and recycling, and considering what steps they can take to help make a difference.

And to introduce it, youngsters were asked to take themselves, their bags and passports to the school hall, which had been set up to replicate the inside of an aeroplane. Staff checked the children in to their Woodlea Save our Planet flight for a trip around the world with their captain, headteacher Jo Mumford.

They took off through a virtual cockpit, before settling down to watch videos about our planet.
