Three pupils from Eggar’s School beat those from three other schools to win their heat in Rotary’s national Youth Speaks public speaking competition.

It was held on January 17 at the University for the Creative Arts in Farnham, where Clara, from Year 8, and Luca and Aiden, from Year 7, presented the motion “This house believes that dogs as pets should be banned”.

Introduced by Luca, Clara and Aiden argued confidently and entertainingly in front of an audience and three judges.
