Farnham town centre’s popular snow windows are in doubt this year after Waverley Borough Council withdrew funding for the initiative.

Waverley has subsidised the creation of festive ‘snow’ scenes in shop windows in recent years to attract shoppers.

But with local authority finances stretched to breaking point, the borough says there is no cash in the pot to fund this year’s snow windows.

Waverley will, however, offer two hours free parking one day in December, a meeting of the town council heard on Thursday.
