CAMELSDALE Primary School was the beneficiary of a fundraising event byEden Hair and Beauty in Haslemere.

The staff at the salon in Junction Place gave up their evening to cut, colour, style, manicure, massage and wax for a cause close to their heart and raised more than £1,600 in just three hours, all of which will go to the school.

They dressed as cheerleaders to celebrate their 22nd year of fundraising, and the salon also laid on a cake and craft stall, a raffle, and a barbecue.

Directors Angie and Keith Townsend chose to support Camelsdale Primary School, as it will be 50 years in September since Keith started as a pupil there.

CAMELSDALE headteacher Sarah Palmer and many current pupils, along with their parents, came to support the event by having their hair cut and buying a hot dog.

Angie said: “Special thanks must go to my wonderful team for their boundless energy and commitment to these events and the ever generous Bells Butchers who donated a mountain of delicious sausages for our famous street barbecue.

“We are lucky have such fantastically loyal and supportive clients, and be based in a community that always wants to get behind us and be a part of a fundraising efforts.”
