A band with every right to blow their own trumpet will celebrate a golden achievement with a milestone concert in Petersfield this weekend.

The top brass are coming to Petersfield Festival Hall as the Liss Band will perform a 50th Anniversary Concert in the venue this Saturday.

The performance should be a sight to behold as nearly 40 former players will join the current set-up for the evening.

The massed ranks have promised an entertaining programme featuring music from across their 50-year lifespan along with new pieces that were first aired at the Bandemonium Brass Brass Band Festival in Devon in July.

The band was the brainchild of former Liss Junion School headteacher Derek Mason and his deputy, David Smith, with the first meeting taking place on July 4, 1974.

The concert will begin at 7.30pm while a limited number of tickets are still available from https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/liss-band)
