Home care staff raise £5,000 for dementia charity in exercise marathon

Staff from home care agency Right at Home Alton and Bordon raised £5,000 for the charity Dementia Adventure with a 24-hour exercise challenge.

More than 20 carers and office team members took part in Endure 24, taking turns throughout the day and night to complete the 24-hour relay event on treadmills and exercise bikes.

Clients, families, representatives of local businesses and members of the public cheered on the team and made donations to Dementia Adventure.

The charity helps people with dementia and their families enjoy the benefits of nature and outdoor experiences through supported holidays and activities.

Liz Young, head of marketing and recruitment at Right at Home Alton and Bordon, said: "Endure 24 was about so much more than completing a physical challenge.

"It was an opportunity for our carers and office team to come together, support one another and raise money for a charity whose work closely aligns with our own values.

“The determination shown over the 24 hours was inspiring and raising £5,000 so far is something we're all incredibly proud of."
