The firm behind the conversion of Farnham’s former NatWest bank on The Borough wants to build more housing on part of Central Car Park.

Plans to build three houses next to the footpath which connects the car park with The Borough have been submitted by JBS Developments Solutions.

The proposals include a detached house and pair of semi-detached dwellings with gated access to an enclosed courtyard between the properties and Borelli’s Yard.

Some 23 spaces will be lost if the application is approved, with the car park becoming a gated residential zone.

Approval by Waverley Borough Council would effectively create a gated development in the heart of the town with around 12 parking spaces being lost.

Simon Brown Architects believe the two-bedroom homes will “bring about an enhancement” and will “sit sensitively into the surrounding townscape” given they will replace an “unattractive area of hard-standing car park.”
