Murder inquiry reopened

A DOUBLE murder at Rake in 1986 is to be re-examined by Sussex Police.

Lindy Benstead (49) a mother-of-three from Whitehill and Peter Thurgood (47) a recently divorced man also from Whitehill, both died of shotgun wounds to the head in a lover's lane on common land near the old A3 between Rake and Liphook on April 22, 1986.
