Students at Lord Wandsworth College in Long Sutton are celebrating record A-level and BTEC results.

Some 80 per cent of their examinations were graded from A* to B, and 97 per cent were between A* and C – the school’s best performance within these grade boundaries.

Headmaster Adam Williams said: “These results are exceptional and we’re thrilled for these young people who now step into the world with not only results, but something even more powerful: an outlook.

“We hope that the experiences, challenges and stretch they’ve been given at Lord Wandsworth College will last them a lifetime.”

Students Grace, Dylan, Jensen, Daniel and Aidan got A* grades in all their examinations, and Lord Wandsworth was in the top ten per cent of schools and colleges nationally based on the A-level Performance System.

Lord Wandsworth was shortlisted for the Co-ed Independent School of the Year category in the Independent Schools of the Year Awards.

Next month the school is merging with St Neot’s Preparatory School in Eversley. They entered into a formal collaboration in 2021 and the merger will create a nursery, a school and a sixth form catering for children aged from two to 18.

Mr Williams added: “Lord Wandsworth College is thriving. By taking brilliant teachers, adding curious pupils, putting them in inspiring spaces and enveloping them in a culture where questions are encouraged and mistakes are part of the adventure, wonderful things happen.”
