Bosses at Farnham Food Bank have given supporters a high five following the huge success of a seasonal appeal.

Bosses and volunteers have praised 28 schools and 14 churches for their generosity as nearly five tonnes of food was donated during the Harvest Appeal.

“We are so grateful to everyone involved,” said a spokesperson, adding that donations will be added to Christmas Hampers in providing some “extra cheer” to those struggling over the festive period.

Sadly, there’s no pause in the need for donations as demand rose sharply for the FFB’s services in October.

Donations of selection boxes, mince pies, fruit cakes, Christmas pudding and items like stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce will be especially welcome with drop-off points around town.
