The passageway from West Street to St Andrew’s Church in Farnham has been obstructed after a wall collapsed, blocking the path.

Surrey County Council had previously cordoned off the area due to concerns over the wall’s safety. However, despite the warnings, many pedestrians continued to bypass the barriers to use the route.

The letter from Surrey County Council said the temporary closure began on Tuesday, February 25 and stated “No traffic shall proceed along the path.”

Just two days later, the wall collapsed, completely blocking the passageway.

No alternative route has been provided by Surrey County Council, but access to St Andrew’s Church remains available via its other entrances.

Surrey County Council have confirmed the path will be closed for 21 days.
